On Friday, December 16, the Royal River Team was able to have a video conference with a NASA scientist from the John Glenn Space Center in Ohio.  It is also amazing that NASA offers these conferences free of charge to schools.  Students have been learning about the challenges of space travel since last trimester.  This trimester they have been learning about the technology developed by NASA to allow this to happen.  Mr. Roger Storm was very engaging and did a wonderful job of addressing the students’ questions.  He…

Two MCMS students were able to attend the Maine Robotics Exposition on Saturday, December 3. In addition to watching the 2016 First Lego League Robotics Championships, which involved 60 teams from 50 different school districts, the students also took part in the Maine Digital Expo sponsored by Code.org, the Gear-Up sposored STEM/STEAM Career Showcase, and the High School Robotics demonstration. MCMS will be able to start a Lego Robotics Team next fall through a grant from Gear-Up Maine.
