The Hour of Code has become a worldwide event involving over 15 millions schools during the first week in December. This year, MCMS was able to provide ALL of our students the opportunity to try their hand at coding. On Dec 3-5 each team participated in an Hour of Code using the resources made available by code.org. Code.org offers a variety of differentiated activities to challenge and instruct at any level. Friday evening through Saturday morning for 15 hours Maranacook Students competed in a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math competition at Thomas College. A team of 5; Zach Berg, Gabe Jones, Noah Jones, Levi Wiles, and Ryan Worster scored the highest in Robotics and League of Legends. A team of Maranacook, Vincent Bero and Anna Swimm, joined 3 participants from Baxter Academy. Collectively of all 5 competitions, this team WON 1st PLACE amongst 40+ teams.
