Simple Machines at MES 3rd Grade!

Recently, third grade at Manchester Elementary School had the opportunity to build our famous simple machine projects once again. After learning all about our science unit, Push and Pull: Forces in Motion, students were asked to independently build a section of an amusement park, that incorporated three different simple machines of their choosing. Some of their products included: slides (inclined planes), elaborate dunk tanks (pulleys and levers), roller coasters (inclined planes and wedges), see-saws (levers), bumper cars (wheel and axles), and even corkscrew slides (screws). They did a wonderful job being hands-on and open minded in their creative building process and were able to put together quite a masterpiece to show the rest of the school!
