EdCamp207, March 23, 2019: Amy Tucker, Mackenzie Kelley, and Tess Cote hosted an EdCamp at MCHS on Saturday. EdCamps are free, participant-driven, with educators learning with other educators. It was great seeing so many MCS staff at the event!
Maranacook Junior Ashley Cray recently participated in the 2019 Honors Performance Series mixed choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City. After a rigorous audition process, she was selected to sing with musicians from around the country in the historic performance venue.
Dana Reynolds and Katie Ide joined Rebecca Reynolds to testify before the Health and Human Services Committee in support of state funding for School-Based Health Centers. Both students shared excellent testimony about the Health Center and how helpful the services here have been to our school community!
Area skiers/parents raise nearly $2000 for local food banks in Maranacook/Kents Hill Hunger Slalom ski race held March 2nd at the Kents Hill Slope. This is the 3rd annual race (Nathan Delmar started the first one as part of the Beat Hunger in Maine Challenge that the school participated in three years ago) and the nearly $2000.00 raised this year will be given to local food banks (likely splitting between the one at the school and the one in Mt. Vernon, but yet to be finalized).
