Dear Manchester Families and Staff,
Please read the following update from Dr. Wolfrom.
July 21, 2017 Update on Summer Work in Manchester Elementary School
Dear Staff and Parents,
On July 6, 2017 the RSU #38 School Board awarded the bid for installing uni-ventilators (in the classrooms at Manchester Elementary School that don't have ventilation systems) to Mechanical Services. Mechanical Services has been in the building this week to review the rooms and plan the project. It will take 3 weeks for the equipment to arrive. Installation work will begin as soon as they receive the equipment order. Mechanical services will provide us with a schedule for their work. They assure us that the work will be done prior to the beginning of school, however this is a large project and they will be working right up to the opening.
The electrician was in the building on Wednesday, July 19 to plan his work. He will begin the necessary electrical work next week in preparation for the installation of the uni-ventilators.
Deep cleaning for all rooms is underway including the washing of walls and lights, deep cleaning of carpets and floors, and cleaning of heating coils and fins.
We will publish the installation schedule when we receive it from Mechanical Services and will update you as to work status and as we receive new information.
Thank you and I hope you are enjoying your summer.
The students and staff of Manchester Elementary School would like to extend thanks to the First Baptist Church Hallowell and Pastor Michael Longfellow for their generous donations for our "Nurses Closets"! The congregation collected much needed items for our school! We certainly appreciate their generosity!

Kids and teens love using the messaging app Snapchat because it lets you send texts, pictures, and videos that you program to disappear after a few seconds. But parents should be aware that it's not actually true that Snaps disappear forever. Learn more about Snapchat here at Common Sense Media.

To ensure safety for all, the circle in front of the school is for busses only between 7:15-8:00 AM and 2:30-3:05 PM. Parents are asked to park in the rear school parking lot (near Castletown) when dropping off/picking up their child during that time. Please note, our school day does not start until 7:30 a.m. (all exterior doors are locked until this time and students will not be allowed to enter until 7:30 a.m.!) Additionally, students may not be dropped off on the playground until 7:30 a.m. because there are no duty teachers until this time!
