A Book for Every Student!

Friends and family:
Each month our RES teachers will receive the Scholastic Book Club fliers to send home for students to share with their families and purchase books if they would like. Very few of our kiddos will turn in the book order forms but I know every one of them would like to have books at home to love! How cool would it be if ALL of our 224 students in our school could receive one free book every month?!

Here’s the idea I’d like to try out this year:
Scholastic has books every month that are $1. I would LOVE for each of our students to be able to bring home one new book each month during the school year from September to May.

If I select the $1 books, that’s only $9 per child. Would anyone be interested in “sponsoring” a child in our school? You could make a donation for $9 and one child would get a new book to take home each month! I would then send in enough money to Scholastic to cover the cost of each child in each of our pre-k to 5th grade students and it would credit Scholastic account. All the money would go straight to books for our students to take home!!

We already have two classroom teachers who have gotten their entire class sponsored. We have 188 kids to go! Who’s in?!?!  Help us teach our kids to love reading!
