Welcome to our Wayne Elementary School website! We are located in the village of Wayne, Maine, near Pocasset and Androscoggin Lakes. Our school is a place of growth and learning for students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Principal of the school is Jeff Boston.
Wayne Elementary is a place of challenge, excitement, and hard work. Monday through Friday, approximately sixty students and the various teachers, staff, and community volunteers gather to learn about ourselves, our community, and our world. We do this by tackling academic subjects, taking field trips, inviting interesting people into our school, and generally looking at each day as another opportunity to learn something new. We may be considered small, size-wise, but we have wonderful classes and programs. We’ve learned that “bigger isn’t always better”; sometimes bigger is just bigger! Besides the usual subjects of English, Math, Reading, Science, Social Studies, and Spelling, our students participate in Art, Computer Training, Instrumental Music, Library Skills, Physical Education, and Vocal Music. Our students enjoy state-of-the-art wireless computers, participate in a school musical production in the Spring, and spend hours each year in the community learning about the history of their small town.
We’re a small school with a big job to do…
A small group of kids with big dreams…
A small group of professionals with talent to share…
All nestled in a small town in Maine.
What a delightfully BIG AND PERFECT combination!
