Dear Maranacook Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to share some important information about our upcoming superintendent search and to invite your participation in this critical process for our district.
As you may know, RSU 38 will be conducting a search for our next superintendent. This is one of the most important decisions we will make as a district, and we are committed to conducting a thorough, professional search that will attract the strongest possible candidates to lead our schools.
Our Hiring Committee Structure
Following best practices recommended by the Maine School Management Association, we are forming a 15-member hiring committee that will represent all stakeholders in our district:
Professional Staff (3 members): Teachers, interventionists, specialists, counselors, and librarians from both elementary and secondary levels
Support Staff (1 member): Custodians, secretaries, ed techs, food service workers, and maintenance personnel
Administrators/Directors (4 members): Building principals and district directors
School Board Members (4 members): Representatives from Readfield, Manchester, Mt. Vernon, and Wayne
Parents/Community Members (3 members): Community members who are NOT currently employed by the district

We are seeking interested individuals from all stakeholder groups to serve on this important committee. This is an opportunity to have a direct voice in selecting the leader who will shape the future of education in our district.
