Dear RSU 38 Staff, Families, and Community Members,
I am writing to provide an update on the progress of the RSU 38 Superintendent Search and to keep our community informed as we move into the next phase of this important work.
The application window for the Superintendent of Schools position closed on November 28th, and the district received 10 completed applications. We are pleased with the interest shown in leading RSU 38, and we are committed to ensuring a thorough, fair, and thoughtful process as we move forward.
The Hiring Committee, made up of myself, Mandy Fitzgerald, Ryan Meserve, Jeff Boston, Michelle Hood, Monica Smith, Amy Chaplin, Chloe Allen, Wendy Brotherlin, Noah Easter, David Twitchell, Tyler Dunn, Josh Panek, Kimberly Sutherburg, and Kim Fletcher, will receive all completed applications on December 2nd. Committee members will review, screen, and score each application using a consistent set of criteria to determine which candidates will advance to the first round of interviews.
First-round interviews are scheduled for December 11th. Following these interviews, the Hiring Committee will identify the candidates who best meet the needs of RSU 38 and will recommend them to move forward to the next stage of the process.
Candidates selected by the Hiring Committee will then participate in interviews with the RSU 38 School Board. These Board-level interviews will allow for a deeper discussion of each finalist’s experience, leadership style, and vision for the district.
We are grateful for the continued engagement and support of the RSU 38 community. Your input throughout this process through surveys, listening sessions, and conversations has helped shape the profile of the leader we are seeking. We remain committed to selecting a Superintendent who will serve our students, staff, and communities with integrity, purpose, and a focus on excellence.
