Good afternoon to our students, staff and community!
I hope this finds you enjoying your summer vacation. I’m reaching out to you today to share a small bit of information about the upcoming school year.
First the given: our schools will be open full time (5 days a week, regular school day 8:00 am to 2:30 pm) to all students at all levels this coming school year!
Now the unknowns: as for the health and safety procedures and protocols we will be using this coming year please know that recommendations are coming from the National CDC, Maine CDC, Maine Department of Education and DHHS information on a daily basis. Information is evolving very rapidly and it is difficult to forecast what may or may not be happening 4 weeks from now in terms of the beginning of school. (Although we are trying!)
The Board of Directors will have a special meeting during the month of August at a date to be determined/announced concerning how the recommendations will be applied in RSU 38 schools.
As soon as those decisions are made we will immediately inform our families and the communities.
We recognize that uncertainty is stressful for everyone but know we are monitoring official information. The School Board of Directors will be looking at decision making based on what is best for our students as the school year begins. We appreciate your patience and thoughtful input going forward.
Thank you all for your continued support as we navigate these latest developments. Again, the Maranacook Area Schools will be open and ALL students will be engaged, learning, growing and in person this coming school year!
