classroom

January 12, 2023

At the Maranacook Community  Middle School during dismissal time this afternoon a fire alarm went off due to a frisbee hitting a classroom water sprinkler.  Unfortunately, 2 top floor classrooms and 1 bottom floor classroom experienced significant water damage as a result and will result in the closure of classrooms. Some students will be moved into other learning spaces tomorrow (01/12) as we assess damage and begin repairs.  Clean up has already begun but we won’t know the longer term impact until later tomorrow.  Principal Sirois and Dean St. Pierre are working with teachers to plan and minimize disruption to the learning environments as best they can. I respectfully ask if you attempt communication with them to expect a delayed response as they work to ready the school for staff and students.  We appreciate your patience and flexibility through this situation.  School will be OPEN tomorrow (January 13, 2023) as scheduled.
